UW-Platteville falls to La Crosse in defensive battle
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team lost 1-0 on the road to the UW-La Crosse Eagles Wednesday The loss moves the Pioneers to 4-7 on the season, and 0-2 in conference.

LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team lost 1-0 on the road to the UW-La Crosse Eagles Wednesday The loss moves the Pioneers to 4-7 on the season, and 0-2 in conference.
In a tight defensive game, UW-L goalie Abbi Burke was able to hold the Pioneers scoreless, while Pioneers' goalie Alyssa Sickler was able to do the same for most of the game. Sickler saved 14 out of 15 shots in the game, with the lone goal coming in the 52nd minute by Haley Hartekmeyer. The game ended 1-0 and the victory moved the La Crosse Eagles to 9-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday in a home game against UW-Oshkosh at 2 p.m. The Titans are 6-5-1 on the season.
