Pioneers fall to Bulldogs, Spartans at memorial tournament
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team fell to both Adrian College 1-0 on Friday and number 13 ranked Aurora University 3-2 on Sunday at the Chelsea Lloyd Memorial Tournament in Aurora, Ill., taking them to a 1-2 overall record.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team fell to both Adrian College 1-0 on Friday and number 13 ranked Aurora University 3-2 on Sunday at the Chelsea Lloyd Memorial Tournament in Aurora, Ill., taking them to a 1-2 overall record.
Junior goalkeeper Amanda Taylor logged six saves in the loss to the Adrian Bulldogs on Friday.
On Sunday, the Pioneers started off strong against the Aurora Spartans, with junior Yamilex Jaramillo scoring two goals within the first 25 minutes of the first half, giving the Pioneers a 2-0 lead before the Spartans could respond with two goals, tying the game 2-2 before halftime.
In the second half, the Spartans took the lead with 10 minutes left in the game, giving them the 3-2 win.
The Pioneers return to action at home on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. against Loras College at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
