The UW-Platteville women’s soccer team throttled Finlandia, 10-0, on Wednesday at Ralphe E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team throttled Finlandia, 10-0, on Wednesday at Ralphe E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
It only took the Pioneers just over seven and a half minutes to score the first goal when Yamilex Jaramillo found an open Katie Viney at the top of the box and Viney put the ball in the back of the net, 1-0. Twenty seconds later, Betty Rodriguez put the Pioneers up 2-0, and then assisted Taylor Stanley for the Pioneers' third goal of the half in the 13th-minute. The Pioneers ended the first half with 24 shots and held the Lions shot less.
The Pioneers went on to score seven goals in the second half, highlighted by a pair of goals by freshman Anna Sobal and sophomore Quin Rogers.
UW-Platteville ended its night with a 56-1 shot advantage with 36 of them on goal.
The Pioneers return to the pitch on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. against Lawrence.
