ELSAH, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team shut out Principia, 2-0, on Saturday at Principia Soccer Field.
"I was happy with how we played today, and how hard we fought for the shutout," said head coach Allison Stringer. "We got a goal early in the second half, and that really helped keep the momentum on our side."
After a scoreless opening half, Julie Divita netted the game's first goal with 38 minutes left to play, assisted by Katelyn Winther. Divita then set up freshman Betty Rodriguez for an insurance goal.
UW-Platteville heads to Fontbonne on Sunday with kickoff set at 11 a.m.
