Women's Soccer falls to Viterbo
UW-Platteville women's soccer fell to Viterbo University, 4-0, on Sunday in La Crosse, Wis.
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer fell to Viterbo University, 4-0, on Sunday in La Crosse, Wis.
The V-Hawks got on the board first in the ninth-minute on a goal from Liz Conejo. Less than five minutes the V-Hawks went up 2-0. Viterbo added another goal in the 39th-minute and took 3-0 advantage into halftime after outshooting the Pioneers 8-2 in the opening period.
The second-half was much different as neither team had much going for offense. Viterbo did have a slight 6-4 advantage in shots and 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Viterbo scored the longe goal fo the half in the 89th-minute.
Seniors Sarah Eck and Melissa Dunlavy each recorded two shot as the Pioneers were outshot 14-6.
UW-Platteville falls to 5-4 on the year, while Viterbo moves to 6-2.
The Pioneers return to the pitch on Wednesday when they welcome North Park to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at 7 p.m.
