Cushman, Killmer Named NWCA Scholar All-Americans
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior David Cushman and freshman Kain Killmer of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team were recognized as National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) 2025 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans this past week.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior David Cushman and freshman Kain Killmer of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team were recognized as National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) 2025 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans this past week.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must meet both academic and athletic criteria. In the classroom, the student-athletes must accomplish either a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or an average GPA of 3.2 over the last two semester. On the mat, the award winners must either place top eight in the regional tournament or wrestle at least 15 matches and post a winning percentage greater than 66 percent.
Cushman, a mathematics in secondary education major, wrapped up his collegiate career with a sixth-place finish at the Upper Midwest Regional in early March. The senior finished 16-13 overall at 157 pounds on the season.
Killmer, a construction management major, concluded his first collegiate season by placing seventh at 197 pounds at the Upper Midwest Regional. He went 13-15 over the course of the year.
