Pioneers Compete at Cliff Keen – Mike Duroe Invite
MOUNT VERNON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team competed Saturday at Cornell College’s Cliff Keen – Mike Duroe Invite. Highlights included three Pioneers advancing to the championship match of their weight class' consolation bracket.
MOUNT VERNON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team competed Saturday at Cornell College's Cliff Keen – Mike Duroe Invite. Highlights included three Pioneers advancing to the championship match of their weight class' consolation bracket.
Wrestling at 133 pounds, freshman Brady Grennan went 5-1 on the day, taking 7th place after winning the consolation bracket championship bout. Grennan had an outstanding day, winning four matches by fall (1:07, 1:52, 0:59, 1:47) and the sixth by tech fall (17-2).
Junior Blake Delsman also picked up a 7th place finish after going 5-1 on Saturday and winning the 165-pounds consolation bracket. Delsman pinned two opponents and defeated another by tech fall (16-1).
At 125 pounds, sophomore Chris Karbash was the third Pioneer to advance to a consolation bracket championship match, finishing 5-2 on the day and runner-up. Karbash picked up a win by fall (6:28) and by tech fall (21-3) to advance to the championship match.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, January 25 when they return home for an 11 a.m. dual against UW-Whitewater.
