Pioneers Wrestle at Luther Open

As a team, the Pioneers registered nine pins, two tech falls, and two major decisions.
Freshman Kain Killmer placed third in the 197 Silver bracket, advancing to the semifinal by defeating his opponents with a 23-6 tech fall and 12-9 decision. Killmer suffered a setback in the semifinal, but finished strong, winning the third-place match by medical forfeit.
Another highlight was Grant Boddicker's sixth place finish in the 157 Silver bracket. The Pioneer went 4-1 through his first five bouts, winning all four by pinning his opponents. Boddicker's list of pins were in 6:29, 2:52, 0:53, and 4:26. The freshman won the next match by 8-3 decision to advance to the 5th place match and withdrew before the contest to finish sixth.

The Pioneers will return to action on Thursday, November 14 for the first dual of the season at Cornell College.
