STEVENS POINT, Wis. – David Cushman of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team capped off his junior season with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA DIII Upper Midwest Regional on Saturday.

Wrestling at 157 pounds, Cushman was the lone Pioneer to advance to the second day of the regional event after stacking up a major decision, a triumph in overtime and a close 5-4 decision on Friday.

Cushman fell Saturday to Carson Cook of Concordia Wisconsin by 9-5 decision before falling to Colton Sund of UW-Eau Claire by a 19-6 major decision in the seventh-place match.
