Pioneers Compete at Don Parker Open
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team competed Saturday at UW-Eau Claire’s Don Parker Open. As a team, the Pioneers tallied four pins and two technical fall victories.

Freshman heavyweight Dylan Warren who was competing in just his second competition of the season, scored five team points while also collecting his first win and pin as a Pioneer. Warren pinned Kenneth Torres (3:31) in the consolation bracket's second round.
Wrestling at 149 pounds, sophomore Carter Kruckeberg scored 4.5 points. The Pioneer started the day by pinning UW-Whitewater's Kolbe Kowalczyk (0:43) in the prelims. Kruckeberg dropped a tight 8-7 decision, but bounced back with his second pin of the day (1:55) over Wyatt Keyeski. The Pioneer's last match fell by an 18-3 technical fall to Davin Rose of DII's Augustana.
Senior Marty Koenig wrestled at 185 and added another win by fall for the Pioneers when he pinned UW-Oshkosh's Tyler Blanchard (4:31), tallying 2.5 team points.
At 125, junior Jack Sullivan scored two points and added a win to his record with a 20-4 technical fall over Nebraska Wesleyan's Julian Long.
Freshman Chris Karbash also added two team points, wrestling at 133 pounds, when he defeated Keith Germain of Nebraska Wesleyan with a 16-1 technical fall.
The Pioneers will return to action when they take to the stage in the Center for the Arts on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The Pioneers will face off against the UW-La Crosse Eagles in the Throwdown in the Theatre.
