EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team was on the road Thursday night to close out the WIAC dual schedule at UW-Eau Claire.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team was on the road Thursday night to close out the WIAC dual schedule at UW-Eau Claire. Senior Luke Pradel won by an 8-3 decision at 141 pounds on Senior Night to tie the dual 6-6 after three weight classes. Junior Isaac Wiegel with a 3-0 decision at 133 pounds accompanied by a hard fought 4-3 tie-breaker decision at 184 pounds in favor of senior Nick Dado totaled the Pioneers' nine points to the Blugolds' 37. UW-Eau Claire improved to 3-2  while UW-Platteville dropped to 0-5 in WIAC duals.

The WIAC recently announced the approval of a 2021 WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) which will hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Sunday, Feb. 28. Due to COVID-19 protocols, UW-Whitewater will be unable to participate. The championship is set to feature UW-Platteville, UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, and UW-Stevens Point.
