Pioneer Wrestling falls at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – UW-Eau Claire came back to slip past the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team 24-23, on Thursday.

The Pioneers received forfeits at 125 and 141 pounds to get a 12-0 advantage. Zach Stenger earned a major decision at 133 pounds over Scott Worlund, while Mason Bohm recorded a major decision of his own at 149 pounds to give the Pioneers a 20-0 advantage.

The Pioneers final victory of the night came at 165 pounds when Trenton Larson beat Brandon Stradel, 5-3, giving UW-Platteville a 23-3 lead.

The Blugolds won the final four matches of the night with the last three victories coming by pins to complete the comeback.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back as they will compete at the MSOE Invitation on Saturday.
