Holland Leads Pioneers to a Pair of Dual Victories

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team earned two dual victories on Saturday by defeating host Lakeland College, 28-15, and MSOE, 33-14. 

For the second straight day junior Austin Holland led the Pioneers with a pair of victories. The 174-lbs. Holland beat Lakeland's Wesley Colton, 3-1 and earned a technical fall over MSOE's Kyle Perea, 16-1. Senior Peter Crocco and sophomore Cody Soderstrom helped seal the win over the Lakeland Muskies with Crocco earning a pin at 165-lbs. and Soderstrom recording a pin at 285-lbs. Against MSOE, 157-lbs. Mike Uliana earned a much needed pin and put the Pioneers within striking distance. Randy Wade put he Pioneers on back on top with his 7-3 victory at 165, and Holland's technical fall sealed the win.

The Pioneers travel across the might Mississippi River to Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday for the Duhawk Open, hosted by Loras.
