Pioneers take title at Duhawk Fall Invite, Berg records hole in one
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team finished first out of seven teams competing Sunday and Monday at Loras College’s Duhawk Fall Invite. The Pioneers finished with a two-round total of 685 as Coe College finished second with 694 strokes.

Highlighting the day on Monday was junior Madison Berg's hole in one on hole 11 from 137 yards out. Berg becomes just the second Pioneer in program history to hit a hole in one during competition, joining Alysse Elko's hole in one during the WIAC Championship in 2019.
Berg finished second overall and one stroke behind first place with a 36-hole total of 163 (81, 82). Sunday's round was a season-best and the event also breaks her personal best two-round score by one.
Tying for third place was freshman Chloe Chappell who had a career-low 84 on Monday to finish with two-day career low 172.
One stroke behind and finishing fifth was senior Jada Chang who shot rounds of 80 and 93. Sunday was a season best for Chang.
Junior Taylor Swalve moved nine places up the leaderboard on Monday and finished 12th with a score of 180 (93, 87). Rounding out the Pioneers scoring five was sophomore Danielle Bruecker who finished 27th with scores of 99 and 90.
Competing as individuals was senior Emma Cage (18th - 94, 88), senior Nicole Sedam (31st – 99, 94) and junior Hannah Tysse (38th – 107-93).
The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 22 when they travel TPC Wisconsin in Madison for the Warhawk Invite.
