Pioneers Take First Place at Tri-State Classic
ASBURY, Iowa, - For the second consecutive year, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team took first place at the Loras College Tri-State Classic. The pool of five teams played two rounds at The Meadows Golf Club on Sunday and Monday. The Pioneers shot a 36-hole team score of 718 after rounds of 360 and 358.

Leading the way for the Pioneers was the duo of sophomores Taylor Swalve (89, 87) and Madison Berg (86, 90). The two finished tied for fourth out of 33 individuals with 176 strokes. All five Pioneers finished in the Top 15.
Freshman Danielle Bruecker shot 92 on Sunday and improved to 89 on Monday to finish seventh overall with 181 strokes. Right behind was junior Jada Chang (93, 92) with 185 strokes. Freshman Gabriella Ziegler (104, 93) rounded out the top five with 197 strokes.
Competing as individuals, junior Nicole Sedam (101, 96) tied with Ziegler for 13th place with 197 strokes and sophomore Morgan Cooley (112, 94) had a two-round total of 206 to finish 18th. Sophomore Emma Slattery (126, 116) finished 25th with 242 strokes.
The Pioneers tee it up next at the Midwest Invite at Brighton Dale Golf Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin on Friday, September 22.
