UW-Platteville ends season at WIAC tournament
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On Sunday, Oct. 8, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team concluded its 2017 season, finishing fifth out of seven teams at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship held at the Reedsburg Country Club with a three-day total of 1,042.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On Sunday, Oct. 8, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team concluded its 2017 season, finishing fifth out of seven teams at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship held at the Reedsburg Country Club with a three-day total of 1,042.
Despite cold and rainy conditions, the Pioneers remained consistent during the 54-hole tournament, scoring 349, 347 and 346. Senior Lindsay Neitzel was the Pioneers' top finisher with a three-day total of 248 (84-81-83), ending the weekend in 16th place. The three-day total by Neitzel ties the school record and her 81 on Day Two tied her season best round. Sophomore Alysse Elko improved her score each day (87-85-84), to finish with a 256, tied for 20th place.
Kaley Mumma, Cortney Olson and Clare Day all contributed to the Pioneers' fifth place finish in addition to Neitzel and Elko. Freshman Andrea McDermott also competed as an individual in the tournament. To view team and individual results, visit http://bit.ly/2wI9jJY.
