UW-Platteville takes 11th in Stevens Point
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – This weekend, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team competed in UW-Stevens Point’s Mad Dawg Invite, held at the Stevens Point Country Club.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – This weekend, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team competed in UW-Stevens Point's Mad Dawg Invite, held at the Stevens Point Country Club. The Pioneers took home 11th place out of 13 teams, beating UW-Oshkosh (B) and UW-Stevens Point with a two-day total of 727. UW-Stout received first place with a two-day total of 657.
Despite finishing with a season best individual day total of 354 on day one, the Pioneers fell short on day two, scoring a 373. Senior Lindsay Neitzel finished tied for eighth overall, with a two-day score of 167. Sophomore Alysse Elko finished second for the Pioneers with a score of 179, tying for 32nd overall. This Friday, the Pioneers will compete in the 2017 WIAC Women's Golf Championship. The tournament is hosted by UW-Stout and will be determined over 54 holes at Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Last year, the Pioneers placed fifth in the tournament.
