Pioneers battle heat at UW-Whitewater Fall Invite
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On Sept. 22 and 23, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team battled two 90-degree days to finish 11th out of 17 teams at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational held at Madison, Wisconsin’s Blackhawk Country Club.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On Sept. 22 and 23, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team battled two 90-degree days to finish 11th out of 17 teams at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational held at Madison, Wisconsin's Blackhawk Country Club. The Pioneers finished with a two-day total of 737, 31 strokes ahead of UW-Stevens Point and Benedictine University, both of whom tied for 12th place. UW-Whitewater finished with a two-round 640 and took home first place.
Leading the Pioneers, once again, was senior Lindsay Neitzel who finished in 17th place overall with a two-day total of 172. Freshman Kaley Mumma scored a 187, low enough to finish within the tournament's top 50, out of nearly 100 participants.
