Golf places 5th at Mad Dawg Invite
UW-Platteville golf team shot 21 strokes better on the final day of the Mad Dawg Invite, finishing fifth out of 14 teams on Sunday.
STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team shot 21 strokes better on the final day of the Mad Dawg Invite, finishing fifth out of 14 teams on Sunday.
The Pioneers ended the two-day event (357-336=693) nine strokes behind fourth-place UW-Oshkosh (684).
Individually, Stephanie Baribeau led the Pioneers, tying for 17th and recorded an 81 on the last day (89-81=170). Katie Gregorich shot a season-best 84 to finish tied for 20th (89-84=173). Rachel Hopkins took 27th-place with an 87 on the final round (89-87=176), while Sydney Kilcoin was a stroke behind Hopkins finishing tied for 28th (93-84=177). Taylor Egnarski rounded out the Pioneers top five, tying for 30th with an 88 on Sunday (90-88=178).
The Pioneers will end the fall season at the WIAC Championships on Oct. 3-5.
