Pioneer Golf places 7th at Carthage Tourney
UW-Platteville golf team ended its weekend on a high note by shooting five stroke better than the Pioneers’ first day of the Carthage Tournament on the Boarder, finishing 7th of 13 teams on Saturday.
BRISTOL, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team ended its weekend on a high note by shooting five stroke better than the Pioneers' first day of the Carthage Tournament on the Boarder, finishing 7th of 13 teams on Saturday.
The Pioneers finished the two-day event +123 (352-347) to finish in seventh, while host Carthage won the tournament at +64 (321-319).
Individually, sophomore Stephanie Baribeau finished tied for 10th, shooting +19 (78-85) in the two-round event. Sydney Kilcoin was just four strokes behind her classmate with a +23 (83-84), placing tied for 13th. Junior Taylor Egnarski shot one stroke better than the first day with an 84 and finished tied for 19th at +25 (85-84).
The Pioneers return to the links on Sept. 13 at the Viterbo Fall Invitational.
