Kellsey Welter Remains in the Top Five after Round Two of 2012 WIAC Women's Golf Championship
University of Wisconsin-Platteville senior Kellsey Welter shot a second round 84 to lead the Pioneer women's golf team on Saturday at the 2012 WIAC Women's Golf Championship at Bull's Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The Pioneers are in fifth place with a two-day total of 738 (365-373), +162.
Welter is tied for fifth with a two-day total of 167 (+23, 167) with Mariah Chesley of UW-Stout. UW-Whitewater leads the seven-team race with a 673 (344-329) for an 11-stroke lead on its closest competitor. Brit McNett-Emmerich of UW-Stout is the top individual with a 161 (+17).
For the Pioneers, senior Kelsey Lieving is tied for 16th with a 178 (88-90), followed by freshman Taylor Egnarski and sophomore Katie Gregorich, who are 37th (196) and 38th (197), respectively. UW-Platteville junior Stacy Heiling is tied for 43rd with a 205 and sophomore Ashley Morales is tied for 45th with a 213.
Sunday's final round is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
