UW-Platteville's Kellsey Welter Shoots Final Round 79 to Lead Pioneers at IWU Fall Classic
University of Wisconsin-Platteville senior Kellsey Welter shot a personal-best round of 79 on Sunday in the final round of the IWU Fall Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Normal, Illinois
Welter finished the two-day tournament with a +17, 161 (82-79) to finish 23rd to lead the Pioneers. As a team, UW-Platteville finished 19th with a 700 (358-342). Lindsey Johnson of William Woods was the individual winner with a +4, 148 (73-75). William Woods won the team title by 17 strokes over host Illinois Wesleyan with a 607 (309-298).
The rest of the UW-Platteville lineup included freshman Taylor Egnarski, who tied for 58th with a 172 (83-89). Senior Kelsey Lieving lowered her score by 14 strokes on Sunday with an 80 to finish tied for 66th with a 174 (94-80) and sophomore Katie Gregorich was 107th with a 197 (99-98). Junior Stacy Heiling rounded out the Pioneer lineup with a 13-stroke improvement and a 201 (107-94) to finish 110th.
The next tournament for the Pioneers is the UW-Whitewater Fall Fling, Sept. 21 and 22.
