UW-Platteville Finishes Fifth at Illinois College Fall Invitational
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished fifth out of 11 teams in the Illinois College Fall Invitational at The Links in Jacksonville, Ill.
Indiana Tech won the tournament by 10 strokes over Illinois Wesleyan JV with a 682 (341-341), +106. The Pioneers shot a 711 (357-354), +135, just 10 strokes out of fourth place Rend Lake College.
UW-Platteville was led by the play of senior Kellsey Welter, who moved into the top 10 with a final round 84 for a 171, +27 en route to a tie for seventh place honors. Just a stroke behind her was Kelsey Lieving, who finished with a 172 (85-87), +28.
To round out the UW-Platteville lineup, freshman Taylor Egnarski was 33rd in her Pioneer debut with a 183 (91-92), +39. Sophomore Katie Gregorich and junior Stacy Heiling both tied for 44th with a 190, +46.
Next, the Pioneers will continue its rigorous fall schedule where they will travel to the UW-Oshkosh Invitational, Sept. 8-9.
