UW-Platteville Finishes Fifth at UW-Whitewater Fall Fling
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team is in fourth place after Friday's opening round of the UW-Whitewater Fall Fling. The Pioneers shot a 337 and are just 12 strokes behind first day leader Carroll University.
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished fifth at the UW Whitewater Fall Invite on Saturday. The Pioneers shot a two-day total of 690 (337-353).
Carroll University held off Carthage by a stroke for the team title with a 657 (325-332). Nicole Westcott of UW-Whitewater won the individual title with a 157 (77-80) in a playoff over Angelina Parrinello of Carroll.
The Pioneers' Ellyn Subak improved on Saturday by four strokes, shooting an 83 and shared 14th-place honors with a 170 (87-83). Kellsey Lieving and Kerrie Liske both shared 20th place with a 173; plus Kellsey Welter tied for 25th with a 175 (80-95) and Katie Gregorich finished 52nd with a 195 (101-94), making a team-best seven stroke improvement in the final round.
UW-Platteville is back in action, next Sunday, when they travel to the Clarke Fall Invitational on Sunday, October 2nd at the Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta, Iowa.
