Pioneers in Fourth After Day One of UW-Whitewater Fall Fling
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team is in fourth place after Friday's opening round of the UW-Whitewater Fall Fling. The Pioneers shot a 337 and are just 12 strokes behind first day leader Carroll University.
The Pioneers have a pair of golfers in the top 10 including, Kellsey Welter, who is tied for 4th after shooting an 80 and Kelsey Lieving, who is tied for eighth after posting an 83 with a pair of birdies. Angelina Parrinello of Carroll and Nicole Westcott of UW-Whitewater share the first-round lead with a four-over par 77. Pioneers' Ellyn Subak and Kerrie Liske are tied for 24th after shooting identical rounds of 87 and Katie Gregorich is 53rd with a 101.
The 10-team field returns to the course on Saturday for the final 18 holes at the Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin.
