Pioneers Finish Tied for 16th at 2011 IWU Fall Classic
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished tied for 16th at the 2011 IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Club in Normal, Illinois.
The Pioneers shot a second round total of 343 for a two-day total of 684 to share 16th place honors with Franklin College and Rhodes College. Opening round leader Washington University-St. Louis held on to its first day lead for the tournament title with a 317 on Sunday and two-day total of 617 to edge DePauw by four strokes.
UW-Platteville was led by Ellyn Subak, who shot her second-straight round of 82 for a two-day total of 164 (82-82) to tie for 41st place recognition. The Pioneers' Kelsey Lievingshot a second round 82 for a two-day total of 165 (83-82) for a tie for 46th. Kellsey Welter was tied for 75th with a 175 (86-89), Kerrie Liske shot her second-consecutive round of 90 for a two-day total of 180 (90-90) to tie for 95th place and Kristie Waynick posted a two-day total of 194 (95-99) for 120th place.
Hannah Buck of Washington University-St. Louis won the individual title with a 148 (69-79) for a two-stroke victory.
The Pioneers resume the fall schedule at the UW-Whitewater Invitational, Sept. 23-24 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
