Pioneers Finish 16th at UW-Eau Claire Georgianni Memorial Invitational
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the fall - UW-Eau Claire Georgianni Memorial Invitational - in 16th place. The Pioneers posted a 748 (356-392) for a +168 in the 21-team field. Gustavus Adolphus won the team title with a 653 (+75) for a two-stroke victory over its closest competitor St. Olaf.
The Pioneers' Kelsey Lieving shot her second-straight round of 88 to tie for 47th along with teammate Ellyn Subak for a 176 and 31-over par. Next, Kerrie Liske shared 75th place with a 187 (86-101) and Katie Gregorich was 108th with a 216 (103-113).
Mary Welch of UW-Stevens Point won the individual title by a stroke with an 11-over par, 156 (73-83) to edge Taylor Wells of Carleton College.
The Pioneers return to action at the UW-Oshkosh Iavitational, Sept. 10-11 at the Oshkosh Country Club.
