The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team remains in 14th place after the second round of the 2011 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Pioneers improved by seven strokes from Friday's opening round with a 351 in the nation’s largest Division III tournament as well as ten of the top 25 teams mentioned in a recent March GolfStat poll.
Kellsey Welter shot her second-consecutive round of 84 and is tied for 31st to lead the Pioneers with a 168 (84-84). Ellyn Subak and Kelsey Lieving each improved by a stroke and are 61st with a 177 (89-88) and tied for 65th with a 179 (90-89).
Tricia Pawelski lowered her score by seven strokes to move into a tie for 86th with a 187 (97-90) andKerrie Liskie shot her second-straight round of 95 for a 36-hole total of 190.
Methodist made an eight-stroke improvement to move from third place after the first round to the second round lead with a 640 (324-216). Hayley Milbourn of Amherst College continues to lead the individual race with a 3-over, 147 (71-76).
