Pioneer Golf Invited to Participate in 8th Annual Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf coach Peter
Reif announced today the Pioneers have
been invited to participate in the 8th Annual Jekyll Island Women's
Collegiate Invitational at Indian Mound Golf Course in Jekyll
Island, Georgia.
The Pioneers as well as fellow WIAC member UW-Stevens Point
will make up the 24-team field. While in Georgia, during the
UW-Platteville Spring Break (March 14-21), the Pioneers will play
practice rounds on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by
competitive rounds Friday through Sunday.
Reif is excited about the opportunity for the Pioneers and
the golf program. "Usually, our players don't get the opportunity
to start practicing outside until April. This trip will be very
beneficial to the remainder of our spring
schedule."
Competing for the Pioneers will be sophomore Kelsey Lieving,
junior Kerrie Liske, senior Tricia Pawelski, senior Ellyn Subak and
sophomore Kellsey Welter.
