Pioneers fall to No. 21 Hope, 75-59
HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team (1-1) fell 75-59 to Hope College (2-0) on Saturday afternoon in the Hope College Tip-Off Tournament inside the DeVos Fieldhouse.

HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (1-1) fell 75-59 to Hope College (2-0) on Saturday afternoon in the Hope College Tip-Off Tournament inside the DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Pioneers led 16-14 after one quarter, but a 17-2 run in the second and 27 points in the third allowed the Flying Dutch to jump to a 61-41 lead with one quarter remaining. UW-Platteville had its highest scoring frame of the game in the fourth with 18 points, but it was not enough to overcome Hope's lead.
Sophomore Ashley Weir led the way tallying 13 points off the bench. Sophomore Ella Mackiewicz also finished in double figures with 11 points. Senior Barb Kling was one away from double digits, finishing with nine points and 11 rebounds, Kling also paced the Pioneers with three steals.
The Nationally ranked Flying Dutch outrebounded the Pioneers, 43-36. Both teams shot 41.8 percent with the Pioneers finishing 23-of-55 from the floor while Hope shot 28-of-67.
Mackiewicz made the all-tournament team along with sophomore Madalyn Reichmann.
The Pioneers will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Bethany Lutheran. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
