Domask and Shields named All-Region
Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's and women's basketball teams had a player each named to the d3hoops.com All-Region second team. Senior Maiah Domask earned the honors for the women's team, while senior Quentin Shields was honored from the men's team.
Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's and women's basketball teams had a player each named to the d3hoops.com All-Region second team. Senior Maiah Domask earned the honors for the women's team, while senior Quentin Shields was honored from the men's team.
Domask is the second player in school history to record 1,000-career points and 1,000-career rebounds. Domask will finish her career third in school history with 1,017 rebounds and 1,462 points.
Domask averaged 16.8 points a game and led the WIAC in rebounding averaging 11.3 boards a game. Domask recorded a career-high 17-rebounds twice, three 16-rebound games and one 15-rebound game. She scored a career-high 35 points vs. Luther on Dec. 7 and scored 31 points vs. UW-River Falls on Feb. 12.
Domask recorded 12 double-doubles on the year and finished her career with 45 double-doubles. This is Domask's second All-Region selection from d3hoops.com. She was also a second team member in 2021.
Shields started all 28 games for the Pioneers and led the team with 15.4 points per contest. The senior from Chicago, Illinois, shot 42.1% from the floor and 83.3% from the free throw line. Shields averaged 3.6 assist and finished the year with a 2.0 assist to turnover ratio.
Shields led the Pioneers to 96 wins in five seasons, four NCAA Division III Tournaments, three regular season WIAC championships and two WIAC Tournament championships. He finished second on the Pioneer all-time list in career-points with 1,671.
Shields was a first team All-Region selection in 2021.
