Pioneers fall in final minutes
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team fell 63-52 to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday night on Bo Ryan Court.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team fell 63-52 to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday night on Bo Ryan Court.
The Pioneers fall to 10-14 overall (4-9 WIAC) and the Warhawks improve to 17-7 overall (10-3 WIAC). The Pioneers are currently tied for 5th place in the WIAC standings.
The Warhawks built a 30-23 lead by halftime and extended the lead to 42-31 with 4:24 remaining in the third quarter. The Pioneers would then go on a 14-6 run over the next 5:14 to get the game back within reach at 48-45. Junior Morgan Horstman had 12 of the 14 points during that run. The Pioneers got as close as 52-50 with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter but the Warhawks pulled away to finish the game.
Horstman led all scorers with 26 points which was one point shy of her career-high. Horstman shot 47.4 percent (9-of-19) from the field including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. She also added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Pioneers finish regular season play on the road Saturday at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 3 pm.
