UW Oshkosh, ranked 15th in NCAA DIII by D3hoops.com, scored seven of the game's first eight points and went on to beat visiting UW-Platteville 77-50 Wednesday night.
The Pioneers never were able to catch the Titans after that fast start and fell to 5-11 overall and 1-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Titans, who also used a 20-4 run to go up 36-16 in the second period, improved to 13-2 overall and 3-2 in the WIAC.
Lexis Macomber made 5-8 from the field and led the Pioneers with 11 points. Melanie Schneider scored 17 points and Isabella Samuels contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Titans.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday vs. UW-Stevens Point at 3 p.m. on Alumni Day in Williams Fieldhouse.
