Big second-half carries Pioneers to win

Platteville, Wis.--The UW-Platteville women's basketball team outscored visiting Edgewood College by 16 points in the second half and beat the Eagles 82-62 Wednesday night.
Leading 30-26 at the break, the Pioneers outscored the Eagles 23-18 in the third quarter and 29-18 in the fourth for the win.
Three Pioneer reserves combined for nearly half the team's points. Maiah Domask made 7-11 from the field and scored 16 points, while Kassie Buchholz had 14 and Lexis Macomber 10. Coach Megan Wilson's squad knocked down 20 of 24 free throws to raise its record to 4-4.
Delaney Wilhelm led four Edgewood (4-5) double-figure scorers with 17 points.
The Pioneers continue their non-conference play Saturday at neighboring Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa at 8 p.m.
