Pioneers drop opener in Wheaton Tournament
WHEATON, Ill. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team fell 87-53 to the Trine University Thunder in the first game of the Wheaton College Tournament. The loss dropped the Pioneers to 0-2 on the season.

WHEATON, Ill. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team fell 87-53 to the Trine University Thunder in the first game of the Wheaton College Tournament. The loss dropped the Pioneers to 0-2 on the season.
The Thunder lead throughout the game and were led by Brandi Dawson, who scored 16 points and had 7 rebounds, and Hayley Martin, who had 12 points and 6 rebounds. The Pioneers were led by Lexis Macomber who scored 8. Allison Prestegaard and Kassie Bucholz, who each scored 7 points. The victory moved Trine to 2-0 on the season.
The Pioneers will face Luther College Tuesday in their home opener for the 2016 season. The game will be played at 7 p.m. Luther College is 0-2 on the season.
