Women's basketball routs Wentworth, 79-37
Alyssa Krajco's double-double paced the Pioneers to a 79-37 thumping of Wentworth.
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Hot three-point shooting propelled the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team past Wentworth, 79-37, on Sunday at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas at the South Point Arena.
The Pioneers made 7-of-11 in the first half and ended the game shooting 41.2 percent from three-point range.
Alyssa Krajco led the team with a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Stacy Clark added 11 points and six rebounds, while Rachel Cropp and Morgan Hartman each netted nine points apiece.
The Pioneers took an early 9-3 lead before Wentworth was able to cut the lead to one-possession, 11-9, five minutes into the game.
UW-Platteville stopped the Leopards from tying the game and used a 22-7 run to take a commanding 33-16 lead with 7:10 left in the first half. The Pioneers pushed their lead to 26 points, 50-24, at the half.
UW-Platteville began the second half with a 15-4 run, extending its lead to 65-28 with 11:57 left to play. The Pioneers cruised to a 42-point win, 79-37.
