RIPON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball upended host Ripon College, 55-46, on Saturday at Wyman Gymnasium.
The Pioneers had 11 different players score, and were led by senior Alyssa Krajco with 12 points. Mykaela Brandt scored eight, while Stacy Clark and Keeley Schulz each added six points.
With a two-point advantage, a three-pointer by Taylor Lorbiecki and a jumper by Clark gave the Pioneers a 13-6 lead with 8:14 left in the opening half. UW-Platteville held on to at least a two possession lead in the final eight minute of the half and took a 22-14 lead into the locker room.
The Pioneers used a 14-4 run to take an 18-point lead, 42-24, with 7:32 left to play. UW-Platteville's largest lead of the game came at the 5:11 mark with a 47-27 advantage. The Pioneers cruised to a nine-point victory, 55-46.
UW-Platteville travels to Las Vegas next week for the D3hoops.com Classic where the Pioneers will face off with Wentworth on Dec. 28 and top ranked FDU-Florham on the Dec. 30.
