Women's Basketball earns season sweep over UW-La Crosse

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Juniors Stacy Clark and Alyssa Krajco each netted 23 points in the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball, 74-67, victory over UW-La Crosse on Saturday night on Bo Ryan Court.
Clark scored 16 of her 23 points in the first half and all ready had a double-double at halftime. She ended her night with a game-high 15 rebounds. Krajco also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and 23 points. Rachel Cropp was 3-of-4 from beyond the arc for 14 points, while senior Melissa Carmody added eight points on Senior Night.
Jenna Anderson led the Eagles with 14 points, followed by Mallory Cramer and Erin Levenhagen with 11 points apiece.
The Eagles led 6-5 early in the contest and would never lead again after the Pioneers went on to score seven unanswered points, 13-6. The Pioneers led by as many as 16 in the first half and took a 39-27 lead in to the locker room.
UWL started the second period with a 9-2 run cutting the Pioneers' lead to five, 41-36. The Pioneers bent but never broke as the Eagles were within one twice midway through the half. Cropp drilled a three-point to push the Pioneers' lead back to two possessions. The Pioneers kept their lead to at least two possessions in the final eight minutes and never allowed the Eagles to make another run like the beginning of the half.
The Pioneers earned the season sweep over the Eagles for the first time since 2005.
UW-Platteville hosts UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday for the Pioneers final home game of the season. The Pioneers and the Pointers will tip off at 7 p.m.
