Eagles Down Women's Basketball on Senior Day

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball fell to UW-La Crosse, 73-63, on Senior Day in Williams Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Senior Claire Poad led the Pioneers with 11 points, four steals and three assists. Sophomore Alyssa Krajco was a rebound away from her first career double-double as she recorded ten points and nine rebounds. Junior Kim Wellnitz rounded out the Pioneers' top scorers with 10 points.
Briana Radowicz scored a game-high 32 points for the Eagles as she went 11-21 from the field and 5-7 from the free throw line. Maggi Bishop added 16 points while Trisha Van Dusseldorp nailed four three-pointers for 12 points.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead and later led 14-4 when UW-Platteville scored five straight points to make it 14-9 with 12:40 left. UWL responded with a 10-0 run to lead 24-9 with 8:00 remaining, but the Pioneers managed to cut their deficit to 10 points, 31-21, at halftime.
The Pioneers tied the game up 41-41 with just over 12 minutes to play, before the Eagles went on a 18-2 run, 59-43, with 6:01 left in the game. The Pioneers couldn't find another run of their own as the Eagles took home the 73-63 win.
The Pioneers host UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday for their final game of the season. Tip is set for 7 p.m. against the Blugolds on Bo Ryan Court.
