The University of
Wisconin-Platteville women's basketball team was held to 31.1%
shooting from the field in a 93-42 loss to host and NCAA Division
II member Winona State on Saturday afternoon.
Six players for the Warriors scored in double figures including
Becca Friestleben, who scored a game-high 17. Abby Busch and
Michelle McDonald each scored 12, Beth Alberson added 11 and Katie
Wolff scored 10 in the win. The Warriors scored 21 of the first 23
points in the game en route to the win to raise their record to 4-1
on the season.
The Pioneers (2-3) were led by Ashley Henry, who scored a team-high
14 including two 3 pointers. Liz Lawinger and Claire Poad each had
six points for UW-Platteville.
UW-Platteville will return to action on Sunday when they host Coe College at 7 p.m.
at Bo Ryan Court inside Williams Fieldhouse.
