UW-Platteville Women's Basketball Participates in Habitat for Humanity.
With the season opener just a few
weeks away, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's
basketball team took a day off from the rigors of preparation for
the upcoming season to lend a hand with Habitat for Humanity in
nearby Cuba City.
The Pioneers were involved with the application of the second coat
of mudding of the drywall inside the house. "It was a great day for
our student-athletes to give back to the community," said
second-year head coach Megan Wilson. "It is important for them to
do things that allow them to step out of their comfort zone and be
successful. Overall, it was a really positive experience and
something that we hope to continue doing in future years."
Working on the house not only helps build the house but it also
builds team chemistry for the Pioneers, who will begin their
2011-12 season on Tuesday, Nov. 15 when they host Milikin at 6
p.m.
