UW-Platteville Lands Two on All-WIAC Women's Basketball Team

University of Wisconsin Platteville junior guard Liz Lawinger (Mineral Point, WI) and sophomore Kim Wellnitz (South Wayne, WI/Black Hawk) were selected honorable mention all-WIAC on Monday.

Lawinger led the Pioneers in scoring with 12.8 points per game and 3.5 assists per game in 2011-12. Against WIAC foes, she averaged 11.3 points, 3.9 assists and 2.2 steals per contest.

Wellnitz was second in scoring with 10.0 points per game and was third on the team with 4.0 rebounds per game in 2011-12. She raised her averages to 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds against conference foes.

It is the second time since the 2004-05 campaign that multiple Pioneers have earned all-WIAC recognition.
