Pioneers Post Strong Results At Mississippi River Rumble

Men's Highlights
Senior Spencer Vanek claimed the top spot in the 400m, posting a time of 49.54 seconds. Two other Pioneers scored in the event, as freshman Owen Wise (50.55) placed fourth and junior James Ketterer (50.80) finished fifth.
Sophomore Andrew Zimmerman was the runner-up in the 800m with a time of 1:59.09. Junior Dylan King took third at 2:00.05 while senior Zach Zenner came in fourth at 2:00.64.
UW-Platteville was well represented in the 1500m, led by junior Joshua Stone's winning and personal-best time of 4:01.39. Junior Caden Schneider (4:02.48) and sophomore Paul Pfeifer (4:04.76) wrapped up the top three finishers in the event.
Freshman Cal Wrasman took third in the 110m hurdles, posting a time of 15.79 seconds. Freshman Kadyn Dixon placed sixth in the 200m, running a time of 22.61 seconds. In the 400m hurdles, junior Alex Geissler was third at 59.01 seconds and sophomore Ryan Owens placed third at 59.97 seconds.
The Pioneers 4x100m relay team of Nolan Marx, Dixon, Connor Curry, and Daniel Inyang finished third, running a time of 43.23 seconds. The 4x400m relay team of Dylan Powell, Phillip Dart, Hayden Treibold, and Spencer Thiry also finished third at 3:48.23.
Inyang finished second in the high jump, reaching a mark of 1.85m. Kaden Piechocki also finished at 1.85m, which was good for third in the event.
Senior Evan Klinker won the pole vault at 4.55m, while senior Kyle Lang finished third in the same event at 3.95m. In the javelin, senior Samuel LaPean came in third at 48.12m.
In the shot put, senior Nicholas Walechka placed fourth overall at 15.06m. Sophomore Cohen Pfohl came in sixth at 13.94m, and junior McKade Jelinek was seventh at 13.80m. Jelinek was also the Pioneers top finisher in the discus (second – 49.23m) and hammer throw (fifth – 54.17m).
Women's Highlights
Sophomore Elianna Dalamangas won the 100m, running a strong time of 12.49 seconds. Senior Madison Ahrens (12.73 seconds) and senior Kayla Lipsey (12.75) placed fifth and sixth in the same event. Ahrens also took second in the 200m (26.46 seconds), while Lipsey (26.71 seconds) came in fourth in that event.
Senior Margaret Rusch took the top spot in the 400m, finishing in 59.83 seconds. Freshman Josephine Yurs placed runner-up in the event at 1:01.38.
Junior Leah Digmann ran a 4:59.95 to win the 1500m. Sophomore Kendra Downing came in fifth at 5:14.17 and freshman Caitlin Wirth placed sixth in 5:14.56.
Sophomore Danielle Mauhar finished fourth in the 100m hurdles, posting a time of 17.00 seconds. She also took fourth in the 400m hurdles at 1:15.10.
Junior Avery Brown was the runner-up in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing in 12:21.86.
The Pioneers won both relay events, with the 4x100m relay squad of Haley Stannard, Dalamangas, Ahrens, and Lipsey finishing in 48.87 seconds. The 4x400m relay quartet of Rusch, Lindsey Barnes, Zoe James, and Yurs crossed the line in 4:16.54 to win the event.
In the high jump, sophomore Hailey Campbell reached a height of 1.60m to place second. Senior Shannon Wulf placed fifth in the long jump at 4.96m. Dalamangas added more points for the Pioneers by placing second in the triple jump at 10.83m.
Senior Brenna Noon finished second in the shot put, recording a toss of 12.82m. Junior Samantha Klann scored in a trio of events, finishing in the hammer (42.98m) and fifth in both the shot put (11.61m) and discus (34.23m). Sophomore Laura Weaver was the Pioneers top finisher in the discus at 36.31m which was good for third.
