Pioneers Runners Compete At WashU Distance Carnival
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams sent several distance athletes to the WashU Distance Carvnival, with runners competing across the past two days. Over 1,400 total athletes from DI, DII, and DIII competed in five events, including: 10K, 5K, 3K steeplechase, 15000m, and 800m.

Men's Highlights
In the men's 10,000-meter run, sophomore Zachary Sporaa took 61st in the field of 175 runners. He posted a time of 31:07.55. Junior Isaiah Kruckman finished 102nd (32:14.24), sophomore Maxwell Sporaa came in at 138th (33:14.12), and junior Korbin Eisler was 148th (33:28.45) to round out the Pioneers in that event.
Three Pioneers ran in the men's 5000-meter run, with sophomore Paul Pfeifer placing as the top finisher at 97th with a time of 15:20.37. Sophomore Xander Albano ran a 15:57.68 to finish 199th, while junior Christopher Wier was 233rd behind his time of 16:10.21 amongst the field of 346 finishers.
Women's Highlights
Senior Hannah Fliss and junior Avery Brown each competed in the 10,000-meter run, with Fliss finishing 64th overall with a time of 38:27.81. Brown placed 99th overall in the competitive field, posting a time of 43:11.10.
