ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A pair of University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field members competed on day one of the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday afternoon. Junior Izzy Peterson (200m) and senior Spencer Vanek (400m) each ran in the preliminary rounds inside the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York.
Peterson matched her school record of 24.82 seconds in the 200m to finish fifth in the prelims of the event. She was the top finisher in the opening heat, and her fantastic prelim time sends her to Saturday's final in the 200m, which will take place at 4:30 p.m.
Vanek placed 20th overall in the 400m prelims, posting a time of 49.67 seconds. Vanek concludes the indoor season holding the UW-Platteville school record in the 400m, which he set last week at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier with his time of 48.54 seconds.
Sophomore Hailey Campbell and senior Brenna Noon will join Peterson in competing on day two of the championships for the Pioneers. Noon will throw in the shot put at 1:30 p.m., while Campbell will high jump at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
