PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Four members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams will compete at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14-15 inside the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York, with Nazareth University and Rochester NY Sports Commission serving as hosts.
Sophomore Hailey Campbell (high jump), junior Izzy Peterson (200m), and senior Brenna Noon (shot put) will represent the women's team for the Pioneers, while senior Spencer Vanek (400m) qualified on the men's side.
Campbell will compete in the championships for the second time after qualifying in the outdoor high jump last May, where she placed 10th overall. The sophomore heads to New York tied for eighth in DIII in the high jump, reaching a school-record tying height of 1.70m (5' 7") at the UW-Platteville Invitational back on February 15. Campbell will jump on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the national meet.
Peterson broke the UW-Platteville record in the 200m multiple times over the course of the indoor season, with her best time of 24.82 seconds at the WIAC Indoor Championships proving to be good enough to qualify for the championships. That time is tied for the 10th-best in DIII and earned Peterson a second-place finish at the conference meet earlier this month. The 200m prelims will take place on Friday at 3:30 p.m., with qualifiers advancing to Saturday's final at 4:30 p.m.
Noon heads to her fourth straight DIII Indoor Championships after qualifying in the shot put for the sixth time overall in her career. The 2024 Indoor Shot Put All-American recorded a season-best throw of 13.62m (44' 8.25") at the Pioneers season-opening meet back on January 25, which ranks 19th entering the national meet. The senior will throw at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday as she looks to improve upon last year's eighth-place finish in the event.
Vanek secured his spot in the championships by breaking the UW-Platteville school record in the 400m at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier on March 8. The senior posted a time of 48.54 seconds, shattering the previous record by .47 seconds and setting a new personal best by .68 seconds to end up 15th on the DIII qualifying list. The 400m prelims will be on Friday at 2:05 p.m., with the top times returning for Saturday's final at 3:25 p.m.
