Pioneers Host Last Chance Meet Friday
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams hosted the UW-Platteville Last Chance meet on Friday evening. The Pioneers continued to push towards qualifying marks for the upcoming NCAA Indoor National meet which begins on Friday, March 14.

Men's Highlights
Freshman Max Sorgenfrey won the 3000m with a time of 9:09.27. In the mile, sophomore Matt Tippel (4:32.70) and freshman Owen Danihel (4:36.80) finished second and third, respectively.
Junior Evan Graves was the winner in the 400m, narrowly winning with a time of 51.31 seconds.
UW-Platteville was well represented in the 800m, led by sophomore Phillip Dart's winning time of 1:58.26. Sophomore Dylan Powell was second at 2:03.26, while freshman Logan Pasakarnis placed third in 2:03.35.
In the shot put, sophomore Cohen Pfohl was the top finisher, posting a mark of 16.12m on his third attempt of the day. Senior Nicholas Walechka was not far behind for second, reaching 16.03m on his fifth throw.
Freshman Brandyn Beahm took second in the pole vault at 4.16m. Senior Kyle Lang and freshman Brendan Gaertig tied for third at the same height, but both reached 4.16m on their third attempts compared to second for Beahm.
Senior Daniel Inyang tied for second in the high jump at 2.01m.
Freshman Callahan Wrasman finished third in the 60m hurdles, running a time of 8.61 seconds. He also placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.22 seconds. Freshman Gannon Mohr was the runner-up in the 200m at 24.12 seconds.
Women's Highlights
Junior Izzy Peterson took home the top spot in the 60m dash, matching her school record time of 7.67 seconds. Senior Madison Ahrens (8.03 seconds) and senior Kayla Lipsey (8.20) rounded out the top three in the event.
Lipsey won two other events, the 60m hurdles and 200m. Her time of 9.49 seconds was the best in the 60m hurdles, and she won the 200m in 26.52 seconds. Sophomore Danielle Mauhar was the runner-up in the 60m hurdles at 9.64, while freshman Josephine Yurs (28.00) and sophomore Ava Garrard (30.33) rounded out the top three behind Lipsey in the 200m.
In the long jump, sophomore Elianna Dalamangas finished first by reaching 4.94m on her fifth attempt of the day. Freshman Braycee Nelson was second at 4.82m.
Senior Hannah Fliss placed second in the mile, running a time of 5:21.82. Junior Leah Digmann finished third in the event at 5:26.98.
Senior Brenna Noon won the shot put with a mark of 13.36m, over a full meter further than junior runner-up Samantha Klann (12.11m). Noon also finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 14.72m on her second attempt of the day. Sophomore Laura Weaver finished third in the event at 14.10m.
The Pioneers had the top four finishers in the pole vault, led by sophomore Evelyn Troxel's winning mark of 3.23m. Junior Emma Egnoski placed second at 3.08m.
Sophomore Hailey Campbell won the high jump, reaching a height of 1.64m.
