Pioneers Conclude WIAC Indoor Championships
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams wrapped up the second day of the 2025 WIAC Indoor Championships (presented by Culver’s) hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. The Pioneers women’s team finished sixth with 36.5 points, while the men took seventh with 35 points.
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams wrapped up the second day of the 2025 WIAC Indoor Championships (presented by Culver's) hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. The Pioneers women's team finished sixth with 36.5 points, while the men took seventh with 35 points.
UW-La Crosse claimed both the men's and women's championships, scoring 287.5 points on the women's side and 217.5 on the men's.
Men's Highlights
In the 3000m, junior Caden Schneider scored six points with a third-place finish. His time of 8:19.01 in the event was a new personal-best.
The Pioneers 4x400m relay team of Spencer Vanek, Zach Zenner, James Ketterer, and Owen Wise placed third while running a time of 3:21.08.
Senior Daniel Inyang finished sixth in the high jump, reaching 2.00m (6' 6.75") to score three points.
Junior Elijah Wade put together a personal-best time of 1:56.23 in the 800m, which proved to be good enough to earn him a sixth-place finish in the event.
Following the conclusion of the meet, junior Beau Kopp was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Women's Highlights
Junior Izzy Peterson scored in a pair of events for the Pioneers, including setting a school record in the 200m for the second consecutive week. Peterson placed second in the 200m, running a time of 24.82 seconds, which broke her record from the previous week of 25.13 seconds. She also took fourth in the 60m finals, posting a time of 7.69 seconds.
Sophomore Elianna Dalamangas jumped to a season-best mark of 11.02m (36' 2") in the triple jump to take her spot on the podium with an eighth-place finish. Her fourth attempt proved to be her best, and was 0.02m enough to score.
UW-Platteville's 4x400m relay team of Margaret Rusch, Lindsey Barnes, Leah Digmann, and Kayla Lipsey finished fifth overall behind a time of 4:05.73.
Following the conclusion of the meet, senior Beau Kopp was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Pioneers will look to improve upon their season times and marks next week at a trio of last chance meets. On Friday, UW-Platteville will host a last chance meet, while others will head to Wartburg and UW-La Crosse on Saturday.
