Pioneers Host Invite Saturday

Men's Highlights
Sophomore Alexander Albano claimed the top spot in the 5000m run with a time of 15:30.62. Senior Korbin Eisler was close behind for second at 15:33.32, while freshman Mason Paar (15:46.74) rounded out the top four finishers in the event.
The Pioneers had the top three finishers in the mile, led by junior Elijah Wade's time of 4:28.19. Junior Isaiah Kruckman was second at 4:31.03, while sophomore Matt Tippel was one second behind at 4:32.01 for third.
UW-Platteville was also well represented in the 400m, as senior Zach Zenner ran a season-best time of 49.54 to win the event. Senior Spencer Vanek (49.72), freshman Owen Wise (50.69), and junior James Ketterer (50.70) crossed the line in right after Zenner. Vanek also finished third in the 200m at 22.79 seconds.
Junior Joshua Stone took second in the 800m, running a 1:56.45. Sophomore Andrew Zimmerman finished third in 1:56.88, while freshman Gavin Pinnow was fourth at 1:59.82.
Freshman Cal Wrasman placed third in the 60m hurdles finals behind a time of 8.67 seconds. Sophomore Ryan Owens also advanced to the finals in the event, taking sixth at 8.90 seconds.
In the 60m, senior Daniel Inyang advanced to the finals and took fifth overall with a time of 7.10 seconds. Freshman Kadyn Dixon (7.11 seconds) and freshman Cale Ledergerber (7.41) placed sixth and eighth, respectively. Inyang also competed in the high jump, placing second at 1.95m.
In the field events, sophomore Cohen Pfohl took third in the shot put with a throw of 14.94m on his fourth attempt of the day. Senior Nicholas Walechka posted a toss of 14.64m on his opening throw to earn a fourth-place finish. Freshman Timothy Strebel was the Pioneers top finisher in the weight throw, placing fourth at 16.28m.
Sophomore Trevor Schulz finished second in the pole vault, reaching 4.32m. Freshman Brandyn Beahm came in third in the event at 4.02m.
Women's Highlights
Senior Kayla Lipsey won the 60m hurdles behind a time of 9.51 seconds. Sophomore Danielle Mauhar also earned a top three finish in the event, taking third at 9.68 seconds.
In the 60m, junior Isabel Peterson won while running 7.81 seconds. Senior Madison Ahrens (8.04 seconds) and sophomore Elianna Dalamangas (8.09) rounded out the top three in the event. Peterson (25.43) and Ahrens (26.43) also placed first and second in the 200m.
Senior Natalie Kreier was the winner in the 5000m, running a 19:11.40. Freshman Elsa Temples was the runner-up in the event at 20:03.55. UW-Platteville also had the first finishers in the mile, as sophomore Megan Hageman posted a time of 5:21.39 to take the top spot. Sophomore Kendra Downing finished fourth in the mile at 5:41.84.
Senior Margaret Rusch posted a new personal best in the 400m and won the event at 59.69 seconds. Junior Leah Digmann placed third at 1:03.29.
The Pioneers 4x400m relay team of Digmann, Ava Garrard, Kendra Downing, and Hageman finished second while running a 4:32.57.
In the weight throw, senior Brenna Noon threw a 16.10m on her third attempt of the day to win the event. She also placed runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 13.05m on her last throw.
The Pioneers had the top three finishers in the long jump, led by freshman Skyler McIlvried's top mark of 4.89m leading the trio. Senior Shannon Wulf (4.86m) and freshman Braycee Nelson (4.81m) were the next two finishers.
Sophomore Hailey Campbell was the high jump winner, posting a 1.70m, which ties the UW-Platteville school record. In the pole vault, sophomore Evelyn Troxel placed third at 3.21m.

With two weeks until the WIAC Indoor Championships, the Pioneers will travel to the UD Spartan Invite next Friday, February 21.
