Pioneers Wrap Up Last Chance Meet

Sophomore McKade Jelinek tossed a season-best 52.19m (171' 2") in the discus to finish second in the event. That mark improves upon his prior best of 51.95m from earlier this spring and keeps him inside the top 12 in NCAA Division III currently.
Sophomore Beau Kopp competed in the men's discus open and threw a personal-best 48.12m (157' 10") to take eighth place.
Junior Brenna Noon placed sixth in the shot put by throwing a 13.29m (43' 7.25") on her third attempt of the day.
Senior Cade VanHout competed in the 100m dash at the meet and finished seventh overall in the finals with a time of 10.73 seconds. He qualified by running a 10.78 in the prelims earlier in the afternoon.
Three Pioneers competed in the men' shot put open, with freshman Cohen Pfohl setting a new PR at 15.46m (50' 8.75"). Senior Nicholas Walechka also reached a personal-best of 15.21m (49' 11") to finish 13th, while Jelinek posted a 15.01m (49' 3") to take 15th.
The Pioneers men's 4x400m relay team of Spencer Vanek, Kaeden Weberpal, James Ketterer, and Zach Zenner finished 10th out of 21 teams with a time of 3:14.31.
In the men's 5000m, seniors Caleb Christiansen (15:13.58) and Troy Humpal (15:18.93) placed back-to-back, finishing 14th and 15, respectively.
Senior Daniel Inyang took ninth in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.95m (6' 4.75").
In the women's 400m hurdles, senior Jessica Buss took 13th behind a time of 1:05.12.
The Pioneers will send qualifiers to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships next week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The three-day meet begins on Thursday, May 23 and runs through Saturday, May 25.
